I never really bothered much with early season bow hunting before, but that has changed. I am finding myself ill-equipped to be comfortable in 80+ degrees and 80+% humidity conditions of WI early season, and am just overwhelmed be all the options available, with most descriptions focusing on how awesome their camo pattern is and less so on the actual weight/stretch/durability/wicking abilities of their materials. I know there are really good options out there in a sea of fair to midland options, so I’m drawing on you southern boys to school me.

What do all you hot weather hunters prefer for camo clothing? What brands, lines, materials, etc. have you found perform best for minimizing sweating your ass off in the saddle? I’m literally sweating out all my hard-earned reserves of cheese curds & Leinenkugels!

Not southern but my early season setup is a mossy oak leafy suit that I picked up 10-12 years ago. I just wear gym shorts & T-shirt under it. If it’s a hair cooler I wear wool base layer under & that gets me to more favorable temps.......

Badlands approach gear. I have their early mid and late season gear. Their late (cold) season stuff doesn’t hold a candle to a WI winter but their early season gear is pretty nice. Light weight, flexible and best of all lifetime warranty.

SITKA gear is all about the tech aspect and the ESW setup is great for hunting in the 85+ weather of south Louisiana. It is on the pricey side but well worth the money when trying to hunt hot weather.

What pieces are you using right now? We are only an hour apart, so if you have hunted this past week you get it.

Kuhl (radikle)pants that are vented..they are awesome pants for hunting in hot weather... stretch fabric and extra room in the knees

The badlands Algus pants, shirt, beanie and neck gator. The cooling tech I think is a bunch of BS but I like how light weight they are and the lifetime warranty is what sold me. Approach for early season then the FX approach for late. If going Badlands route wait for a coupon, DO NOT PAY MSRP. BL is always giving out 40-50% coupons. When it happens few of us are quick to post it to the discounts section. I still sweat my butt off, but not sure how much lighter gear can get than the Algus stuff. I went out Thursday after work and still managed to sweat my butt off. This humidity just sucks. As much as I dislike the WI winter kind of looking forward to it for hunting reasons.

Bug tamer leafy suit and shorts and t-shirt underneath! Because where I live heat includes a horrible amount of "skeeters" and now I also carry my thermacell!!! This year I also have some new cloths with the quick dry material that I am gonna try so we will see!!!!

Check out the tibbee line of clothing from the mossy oak store online. It's made from practically the same stuff as the sitka esw at a fraction of the cost. The only real difference I see is how sitka trims out their clothes a little more thought out with positioning of pockets and such.

Great stuff guys, I’m looking at all of it. Does anyone use the ScentLok Savannah suit? Independent of the whole scent argument there is a lot of positive praise on the board for the quality of their gear, so Thought I’d ask.

Kuiu Tiburon series is pretty amazing. The fabric lets more air through than anything I've ever worn. Doesn't look like the 1/4 zip is on the site anymore, but the pants and 1/4 zip I have are hands down the best warm weather stuff I've tried. Much cooler than Sitka ESW, light weight hoody, Ascent series, etc.

+1 on the sitka esw...pricey, as mentioned, but the material and mesh are very breathable

I wear the wrangler outdoors performance pants, a long sleeve performance T-shirt and my asat leafy goes over it once I'm at height.

In Florida I wear a banana hammock and just paint on camo, still sweating...

Magellan brand from academy sells hunting pants that zip off at the knee to turn into shorts if really hot, plus the material they are made of feels like you’re hunting naked. Only $25 too
