Friendly reminder that the word for sliding down a piece of rope is rappel. I've seen more people than usual talking about repelling gear and I'm not sure what they're repelling or why.

The SH Membership has gone live. Only SH Members have access to post in the classifieds. All members can view the classifieds. I spray my rappel rope with Repel Mosquito spray. That way, wether I’m repelling or rappelling, I'm still rappelling/repelling.

I hear he washes his ropes with acetone too if he climbs a tree with poison ivy. Uses a safeguard on oplux and backs it up with a friction hitch below it.
The hitch is 7/64 amsteel...
