How do you attach ridge runner to tree?

I hate the buckle and I tried some 7/64 daisy chain but couldn't really get it solid. Any recommendations?
 
Versa strap works well. Attach it to the closest loop (it'll still be loose), push the RR down, then cam it over. I did it all last season. When done right it's easy and clamps down super tight
 
I think I’m going to try a timber hitch with 1/4 amsteel for mine. I don’t really like the strap either
