So I bought some oplux from a place that had a minimum $ order. So I got 27 feet. Im thinking if cutting three 9 ft sections, so i have one spare if i ever need it.

How long is your tether rope, and how long is your linemans rope?

Thanks!

Thanks! Do you mean 9 ft before you tied the knots?

Nope, after knots

I cut down a 30’ pc of rope

I think about 13’ before knots

The 3rd pc/left over scrap was too short to use for anything else

I bought two 10’ pieces of 10mm static HTP and wish I would’ve started with at least 12’. Lost more then I thought I would have after knots. Then again I wish I went with the Oplux or C-IV rope but if I do that I’ll need to sell 2 brand new Ropeman 1s and buy Kongs or Ropeman 2s. Dilemmas?!?!

8ft after knots for linesman and tether, if I get another set I may go for 7 or even 6.5 ft though because I tend to hunt small trees

Anyone using the same rope for tether and then to rappel? Was wondering how well that works? Do you just keep the extra in a pouch on a hanger and then just drop it when your ready to rappel? Thanks,
Matt

I don’t because I don’t want to be attached to a 40-50 foot rope, bundled in a pouch or not, while trying to maneuver around the tree for a shot. If I SRT up, I’ll leave it attached to the tree after attaching my short tether and then put the tail in my pack. If I climb some other way, I leave all of it in my pack until I get ready to come down.
