Picked 5-10 probably closer to 5 but not way less. That’s hunting to packing up & clipping in LB taking off tether & climbing down pulling equipment as I go, bottom 2 sticks are Stacked as I pull them & then platform plus sticks right on the pack. I haven’t checked in awhile but now I’ll time a couple out of curiosity ( bolts are slightly faster on the breakdown / pack up)

I view marriage in America much like I view climbing a tree:

- significant tail risks that are underestimated by most folks engaging in the behavior

- these tail risks only make sense with a significant upside worth betting on

The tax incentives and betting half of everything I own that we’ll tolerate each other enough to share the same house till one of us dies, only made sense once we decided to have a litter and got that process rolling.

Yes, she’s annoyed by the way I view the world too. Don’t worry, it’s not just y’all. Just distracted her long enough to set the anchor.

Less than 5 minutes. I typically swap to my rappel rope about a half hour before the hunt is done so I've already stashed my hunting tether and bridge in their bag. I'm more comfortable for the duration of the hunt on separate tether and longer bridge but I can sit (and still effectively hunt) for 45 minutes or so on my short climbing bridge so I take my time transferring bridges and stowing them quietly.

Once shooting time is up I lower my weapon and start my rappel. Platform comes off the tree and the rope is wrapped around it and into the pouch it goes on the way down. Climbing stick is removed and hangs off the bridge until I get to the bottom of the tree. Once I hit the ground I fold up my stick and drop it on the ground, remove the safeguard and put it in its pocket in the pack. The pack is placed on the ground and I pull down and coil my rope and pull down string. The rope goes in the bottom of the pouch, pull string attaches to the saddle. Stick follows the rope and my outer upper layers are removed and packed in the pouch too. Put the pack on, pick up the bow and I'm on my way out.

5-10min any way I choose to climb (Sladder & rappel, SRT, or WEI Stepps with K/S), usually closer to 10. Probably in the 8-9min mark typically unless I'm in an absolute rush, which isn't usual. I'm also the person who removes necessary layers for hiking in and out, and packs everything as it needs to be as I'm leaving (I hate unpacking only to re-pack once I get back to the house/truck/camp) the only exception is when everything is wet and I need to dry it out. I would say that the Sladder and SRT give me a hair of an edge over the WEI Stepps, but it's not much (I pack up the Sladder once I transition to my platform and am set up and ready to shoot, but stuffing my rappel line into my pouch and re-setting it up takes a minute or so; SRT I have a longer rope, but I can throw a tangle-free coil pretty dang fast lol). IF there's deer around or I'm being overly quiet and cautious with no headlamp, maybe 12-15min...

I chosen5 to 10, but never timed. I have my pack ready to go once it starts getting close to the end of shooting light, or if I know it's getting too dark to shoot accurately even if I have time left. Once I've made that call, weapon gets unloaded and goes down, pack on my back, rappel down to my ROS, then to the ground. I will coil my ropes, but I do not pack it back in in order. I can do that at home.

Recently I did a short sit and I was pretty surprised at how "quick" it felt like I had packed up and started walking. Was it 5-10 minutes? No idea, but it sure felt fast. I agree, having a system helps.

When people I consider to be regulars on here ask what a Sladder is, or are surprised to find out that another regular got married (no less has a kid)...

...I really feel like I'm on here too much.

I’m in that 5-10 minute club. Depends on what I’m wearing, how far my hike out is and if I’m in a hurry.

Ugggghhh too long. I’m a dilly-dallier getting stuff packed, because I’ve gotten caught on descent by deer I could have either shot if I’d just waited an extra few minutes, or I decided to try and beat their approach with my descent and my timing was off. It really comes down to two things: tether and/or rappel rope, and bow. Everything else takes a few seconds (taking into account that I’m trying to be quiet, so maybe a minute or two to pack my bag and pouch without worrying about my weapon or ropes). I have been hunting off my tether and then using a rappel rope, which has really upped my time and I know is probably not worth doing. I just like hunting off a short rope, I dunno.
I voted 10+ minutes but if I were to set a timer from packing bags to ground and re-packed it’d be somewhere between 5-12.

I have timed it. 30-40 minutes from the time I stop hunting up in the tree to when I start walking on the ground. The variable is the amount of clothing I’m wearing due to the temperature outside. The process is pretty much the same: Lower bow, unscrew hooks, attach lineman’s rope, remove platform and lower to ground, climb down, removing 5 sticks as I go, put pull up rope back into saddle, remove saddle, pack sticks into platform, remove heavy layers, pack everything up into backpack, put boots back on. No way all that can be done in “3-5 minutes”.
This was my very assessment as well. I started thinking there was something wrong with me. Now that I’ve been up and down trees a lot I’m probably “down” to 20-25 minutes but I am the type that likes to sneak in and out. I’m not the Bull in the China shop type but it is annoying to me how long it takes me. However, unless I got soaked, I’m ready to roll the next morning without having to do anything much at all.

Do you guys blow up the area coming down and out? Or do you take your time and try not to get noticed?
I sneak out the same way I came nice and quiet. From feet on the ROS to the ground takes at least 15 minutes possibly 20. But when my feet hit the ground I start walking.

Took this guy just over 5 minutes using rappel. He didn't include lowering a weapon. He didn't have extra layers to pack, nor any brush to tangle in under tree.

Cool side by side comparison with full stick setup. I think he should have included a weapon and pull up/down rope on both sides for a fairer comparison. He also looked newer at 1-stick rappel. I saw several opportunities for efficiency improvements.

I might set a timer tomorrow to see how I compare. Granted, I don't rush, both to avoid spooking deer and because I enjoy not rushing through activities I am generally enjoying. Yes, yes, I'm out to kill deer, not play in the woods. But I do enjoy the whole process.

Are you asking how long it usually takes me or how quickly it can be done?

I climb with bolts and aider so I can easily be out of the tree and walking away in under five minutes.

I’d say it usually takes me 10-15 as I very slowly and quietly go through the process. I’m usually not in a hurry and want to get out with as little disturbance as possible.
