How many cams do you run?

As the summer starts, I'm getting ramped back up for the season. I've been making up some 12v packs for all my cell cams, and while doing so, I remembered all the other cams I have and where I want to set them.

I got to thinking... how many cameras is everyone running? How many acres are your cams covering? I'm currently fortunate to have a good chunk of private, and will have about 20-25 cams out this season. I'll keep the cell cams in areas I know see good traffic, and will use the others in new or less traveled areas to see what things look like.

Live an hour from our 100 acres, last year ran 9 Cuddelinks + 4 other cell cams + 5 regular cams… it’s still just a small sample of what’s going on haha. This year trying more mock scrapes. I have two young kids so can’t get out enough, threw a ton of cams at em, had great hunts but still only took a doe.

I ran 8 last year. 4 Reveal cell cams, and 4 Brownings on about 500 acres of private land. With the price of lithium batteries, I'm debating even putting them out this year.

I am running all cells and thinking about selling my traditional cameras. I run 4 reveals (with the rechargeable battery pack) and 1 stealth cam. I set them and don't go back to them until after season or if they NEED maintenance. I want to get more cells though.

Man, our community really does overdo the phrase "I run xxxxxx cameras"....
I would say cameras are one of the few things we actually do run. You power them electronically , adjust them, activate them, maintain and check them, and then take them out of commission

I MAINTAIN 5 to 12 cameras year round. I just think it's a lot of fun. I have 4 cell cams out now and a couple of regular cams. The cell cams are in my hunting spots set up with solar panels that I bought for cheap on flebay and the regulars are in spots that I think may have potential.

Care to share any details on how you build your battery packs? I was looking at getting some premade ones by HME/Stealth to keep from replacing batteries every year.

I wonder if you could somehow use the tree itself to power the cameras...sort of like those potato clocks.

I'll be running 8 cell cameras this year. Had 11 last year but can't get some of them going again.

Building battery packs isn’t worth the savings for me, but what you can do is get cheap solar battery panels on Amazon and then buy the 3 year optional warranty with em - Asurion I think. $50 total for guaranteed 3 years isn’t bad, and Ive exchanged two with that warranty, I can’t believe they’ll even insure them. Bushnell got smart though, proprietary plug the Amazon panels won’t fit.
