I have 10 out right now-all Moultrie Edge cameras. 1 is next to the house on a food block I set up on a black cherry stump. That's my "test" camera, & I learned a lot while playing with it. The Real Boss likes seeing the deer come in & eat at the block.

I have 4 in NW PA on 16 acres I own in the middle of nowhere. They've been in service since Jan. of this year, & I intend to keep them going throughout the year. Deer, turkeys, black bears, & coyotes show up on those.

The 5 remaining cameras are on a property south of Zanesville, OH that a buddy owns. We go out there each year in Sep, Nov, & Jan. Those have been up since Aug, but will come down in Jan because he's having the place timbered. They'll go back up in Jul/Aug of next year.

Example of the Tacticam software. Its free if you are paying for the data. I love seeing a quick glance that activity on the camera is WAYYYY more on north winds. That used to take me forever to figure out.

That is cool. Didn’t know about that.

Don’t north winds typically correlate with drop in temperature? May have something to do with the increase in activity.

for sure. I also think they are bedding south of this cam location. And it seems like they dont like coming into this little oak flat unless they can easily smell it first.

And generally higher pressure.
very true. not a single human on this camera ALL season until yesterday. 2 yahoo's walking around without any blaze orange. But that's thanksgiving week. More hunters in the woods this week than the rest of season combined probably.

I could be wrong and speaking out of turn, but I think @BTaylor is talking about air pressure, not hunting pressure. As in a “high pressure system” you might see correlating with north winds, lower temps, etc.
Although I think you’re both spot on lol.

Funny part is the "data" set on this camera show most activity when pressure is in the medium range. much less pics during low pressure as you'd expect. But then a similar dip in pics when the pressure is very high? What does it mean? No idear!

I was referring to barometric pressure, you make a very valid point as well.

Seems like "high pressure" is somewhat relative to the time of season as well. Early season anything north of 30 seems to correlate to increased movement and later in the year it takes even higher pressure like north of 30.2 to see the same level of movement.

Plan cost is one of the biggest I stick with tactacams. I only need the 5$ a month plan. So yes with as many cams as I run it is expensive but I only run them 3 months tops. Always get them out before the orange army hits. Moultries are expensive. Cheapest is 10 bucks a month and I don't ever use even a third of the pics

16 cell cams on about 200 acres - I live about an hour and a half away - and I still don’t what the heck is going on out there. Sounds crazy but it’s less than one camera per ten acres, still miss a lot.

Running any kind of camera is not allowed in Missouri on public land which is a challenge. I do have 4 on some private land I have access on.

1, just my second season with a camera.

While it’s fun to get the pictures, I don’t think it’s a crazy useful tool with just a single camera. To really gain an advantage with them I think one would really need 5+.

I look at it as more of entertainment and stuff to shoot the crap over while hanging out with hunting buddies and getting amped up for the season.

Four Tactacam Reveal X’s on private all the same property. I have one solar panel and after getting it connected right I highly recommend. It’s been keeping the camera charged at100% since late August. I like that you don’t have to go grab cards and stink up your property as much but what I like the most is that they keep me apprised of the quality of bucks and help me to determine when to continue on that tract or not. This is only my second season using them. I buy the annual plan and keep them going all year as I monitor turkey and predators for trapping and hunting too.
