How to use lineman belt for climbing trees with branches?

Hello, I am new to saddle hunting and have been practicing climbing with the tethrd mantis system this summer. I have heard that you can climb any tree with a lineman belt and saddle - but if you are climbing a tree with branches do you need to detach lineman's belt each time to bypass each branch? In that case do you need to have 2 lineman belts so that you are always attached to the tree somehow? Maybe I am just missing something basic! Apologies for the elementary question and happy almost 4th!

Your tether can be used as a secondary linesman’s belt. So you would attach it above the limb and I usually use my bridge loops. For my second.

You are correct. You would need a second lineman belt or use your tether to stay hooked in the whole time.

Not missing a thing. If I come to a tree that has branches I use my tether as a secondary lineman belt. It keeps me from having to bring any extra ropes. I am a believer in if something I carry in can be used for more than one thing that is a bonus. Just takes practice and if you don't have a ropeman1 or a prussic tender I'd suggest getting one. it'll make using your ropes a lot easier. Hope this helps.

Prussic tender? Could you educate me please?

Did a video the other day. There is a recap at the end about the equipment used. Kestrel flex saddle with rope bridge used as second lineman. Large tree with lots of limbs
