Hunting Safety Video

Did someone eat the Twinkie with the wrapper still on.....?

I SAID DON'T ASK!!

Do you wear the squirrel suit when you eat the twinkies?! That would be awesome!

Guy that reads three posts on the internet and takes what another uninformed, not properly qualified, not thoughtful guy says about a piece of equipment or method as gospel. This one will kill someone in short order I am convinced.

My profession is safety, and right now I’m making a hunting safety video. The theme is playing off of poor hunting stereotypes. I’m looking for ideas to include in the video. Here’s what I have so far:

-the beer drinker (while hunting)
-the no-fall protection guy
-the poor weapon-handler
-the “no-blaze-Orange” guy (firearm season)

What other unsafe stereotypes can you think of? I’m needing all the input I can get.

I'm a NYS certified Bowhunter Ed, Hunter Ed and Master Trapping Instructor so I appreciate your intent. Here are some ideas but you covered the best ones for safety, these may be more ethical or hunter responsibility related more so than safety but it all really goes hand in hand:

-The posted land trespasser guy
-The posts on a property lines guy
-The wanton waste guy 1: Shoots a smaller buck first then a bigger buck comes by and he shoots that and leaves the other buck to waste
2: Is too eager to loose an arrow so he always makes poor shots and is the guy always calling deer search because he loses the bloodtrail.
3. Hangs his deer outside for two weeks and wonders why no one likes the taste of it when its prepared. Or its "Gamey."

- The before and after legal shooting light guy (never checks the daily sunrise and sunset times)
-The no broadhead wrench guy
-the no string wax guy
-the shoots his arrow up into the sky guy
-the dry fire guy

BTW we were all wearing mostly all orange even guy that was killed. This said:
Guy wearing a COMPLETE gille suit during gun season while a distance away from his partner in just a orange vest over camo. Have many times found them running from my border as I climbed up into my stand.
How about the doesn't check his gear guy. You know the guy that leaves his hang on up year round and never thinks to check the straps or stand before use.

Or the guy that assumes his gun is still sighted in and misses or injures deer before checking.

Maybe the trespasser that almost gets shot in gun season because no one knew he was there.

The guy who texts and drives.

The guy who drives drunk.

The guy who drives extremely tired.

The guy that drives around on an ATV with a gun on the front handle bars muzzle sweeping everyone.
The guy that has no map nor has ever heard of avenza.

The person who doesn’t keep his arrows in a quiver, protecting himself and others from being sliced by broad heads.

I saw a guy once who had a jet sled packed and 6 arrows pointing, broad head up, in his jet sled.
