After a few weeks of trying some things out I’m officially sold on the saddle... well in my case a rock climbing harness at the moment. My harness seems to be ok but I definitely need a platform before I up grade to a mantis. My 4 lone wolf sticks sufficed for today but I’ll need to up grade down the road.

before you buy more sticks, check out the aider/knaider. You might just decide to become a one-stick hunter.
But I think the Double Rope Technique (DRT) is probably the slickest way to get up a tree. Look at New York Saddle Hunter forum.
You can find them on YouTube, For a good intro search for 0JtaEXzhlKk or Best climbing technique for saddle hunters (DRT Climbing Technique)

I’ve seen the aider/knaider videos, I would definitely have try it out. Cutting down to one stick would be great though.
