I started a new YOUTUBE channel

I was close!

Also, shame on you for not getting the plastic license. I paid that money so fast it made DCNR's head spin. You have no idea how many paper licenses I've ruined and had to reprint. If the fishing don't kill them, the duck hunting will!

Lol, I have one but for hunting only didnt feel like paying $5 for another one. Plus I can just use outdoor Alabama app on my phone as well.

The app and the new license are proof that even DCNR gets it right once in a while. I am less mad at them this year than I have been in a while. They p'ed me off when they changed licences from being good for 365 days to being good from date if purchase to September 1 so they could get payments in one big sum to pay off the folks who used to use gill nets. Then they p'ed me off again when they legalized bait and promoted it as a "better safe than sorry, what if you get caught hunting over someone else's bait by mistake" kinda thing.

But they done good with licenses and the app. Just don't tell Chuck I said that.

I’m waiting for deer season and the sausage making episode. That stuff is some count!

I saw the guy mentioned above on an inshore creek. I was fishing by myself and later was telling someone about it (for those not in the know, an 8’ net has a 16’ diameter). The guy I told just looked at me and said “you were out there playing, that fella was out there surviving”. That’s always stick with me.

I've lived on the coast my whole life and have never learned how to throw a cast net properly

I was about 60% full circle and 40% banana when I finally decided it was better to just ride down to the dock and buy a cooler full of shrimp

The secret is not to manhandle the net, just get a good rhythm and roll with it.

I took a guy fishing once. He said I'm gonna show you a trick and bring my cast net. You just drive the boat. I said sounds good to me. He pulled out a 4ft cast net. He said pull up to that drain. He threw it in there and it covered the whole drain. Caught a bunch of minnows. He said he likes a small net for catching minnows. You can throw it way back in the drains where they are trapped. Can't fit a big net in there. Right tool for the job!

This guy was after eating size fish, not bait, and the creek was 100’ wide.
