I think I just had an original thought.

So through my saddle hunting years I've asked myself one question most often. I carry a gun as part of my job, my daily routine and every place I go (more or less).

So in hunting from a saddle, I've put my gun on my pack in a holster, I've put it on my saddle...you name it. None of these solutions have scratched the itch.

I'm talking about a pistol.

So a thought occurred to me. Why not wear a shoulder holster that has suspender type attachments? This keeps the gun on my person, attaches it to my waistband or to the saddle (I haven't decided yet) and allows me to (possibly) use the holster in place of a back band and as suspenders to hold up my saddle.

Anyone tried or or have any ideas?

Consider an abdominal mount, otherwise might interfere with drawing a bow with chest mounts

I use a gunfight chest holster for my glock model 40 and always have it on in the woods. Killed a coyote and a hog this weekend with it. It doesn't get in the way when shooting a bow

Depends what I’m carrying. I too carry as a part of employment. For connivence I will occasionally pocket carry. However when hiking and having a lot on waist ankle carry is nice.
