Ideas to silence the Tethrd Skeletors.

After chatting with them, they recommended 8 pcs 2.5" x 24" and it worked out well. On the first stick I removed all the hardware and completely covered the stick. I ended up with about 4" of leftover material overall. However, I had a lil trouble with the strips twisting up under the torque of the bolts so I had to cut a good deal of that back out. On the subsequent three sticks, I simply covered the exposed areas on the front and back and only removed the button in the middle. This was a much easier process and I don't think it really mattered overall. 16 3/4" per side was the right amount for this so you could probably get away with 8 pcs 18" x 2.5" and do just fine (I had about 7" per side leftover after this). This method wasn't nearly as time consuming since I was only removing the attachment button (whatever Tethrd calls it, can never remember the verbiage). The soldering iron was the perfect tool for this. It makes quick work of the holes and I also used it like a seam iron on the wrapped around edges of the strips to ensure they bonded well inside the channel. I will caution you though, use a CHEAP soldering iron. That joker isn't fit for any other task after this job. :)

All together I have around 45" of material remaining. While I don't think I'll mess with trying to cover the fold up steps and risk them not fitting properly in the channel, I may cover the sides of the standoffs. They don't necessarily need it but, I have almost 4' of material and may as well put it to good use.

Here is a shot of the difference between the stick where I stripped the hardware and the one where I only removed the button and used 16 3/4" of material per side. Obviously the second option was much easier and took about a third of the time. Top stick is hardware removal and bottom is the easy method.
