My faithful Rocky Timberwolf boots have finally sprung enough leaks that I had to throw them out. I’ve been using my rubber boots and they work fine but my feet sweat like crazy in them. With my hunting style drifting from private land to public, I know I’ll but putting many more miles in and have been curious if wearing uninsulated boots on the hike in, then putting more socks on is a better option than insulated boots and sweating the whole way.

My feet are almost always cold, so it's a little hard to relate to you. But I usually hIke 1-3 miles to some of my spots and if colder then 45° I wear my 800gram insulated lace up boots then change my sweety socks with a dry pair of darn tough merino wool socks.
