I’ve just completed my first year as a saddle hunter. I’ve had successful hunts, crappy hunts, dozens of practice climbs, many dozens of hours spent in the saddle. I’ve spent a ridiculous amount of money, some on gear that I’ll never use again, some on gear that I consider absolutely vital.

I’m not interested in becoming a YouTuber or a saddle guru. In fact, that sounds like the opposite of fun. But instructional videos and honest reviews have been the backbone of a successful and wildly fun first year. I’d like to help some folks who find themselves as confused and interested as I was a year ago. If anyone would like, I’d be happy to make a video or several on my gear loadout, what has worked and hasn’t, my climbing methods, how I stay safe, etc. If there’s something you’d like to see recorded and uploaded from my totally unprofessional iPhone, let me know.

On the other hand, if there are already plenty of videos out there, just watch those! It’ll save me some time! Meanwhile, big thanks to all the innovators and all the grinders who have shared their experience and helped me have a great year!

I learned all this stuff from my iPad watching videos! I can’t believe I’m climbing trees and rappelling down. I’m about to SRT and watching lots of videos. IMHO there Can’t be too many. Show us whats working if you have fun doing it. I love sharing and helping with my recent endeavor. I’m having a blast!

I'm a private person by nature and the idea of posting videos online isn't attractive at all to me. But, as I'm learning this stuff, I think I might start posting videos to get feedback and constructive criticism, rather than showing people how to do what I'm doing. So post away!

I started "saddle hunting" and rope climbing to do so, back in 2008... but i never actually heard of saddle hunting til 10 years later... ya see, i thought i was the only one doing it. As such, i have evolved my own climbing methods and although I don't sell anything, I have publicize what I do and you welcome to any information I have published.

Oh man, I've definitely checked out a few of your videos already. I really appreciate the content you've put out there.
