So today I got out for an hour. Not long I know but it’s the time I had. 5 kids and a full time job keep me super busy. So I rigged my bag to the pack seat and headed for the nearest batch of woods.
Not long into the woods I setup and realized that a piece of the nylon webbing was loose where it rivets to the chair and had popped off. Try as I might I was unable to pop it back on. Seat still functioned perfectly so I made a quick call and left a voicemail to Waldrop pac seat co.
I finished my hunt and packed back up kinda bummed at the webbing coming off as it is necessary to really secure your pack to the frame and barely a week old. Though I was more comfortable in the woods than I have ever been in the seat.
I headed down the road and got a call from Tim at Waldrop. Tim introduced himself as a recent business partner to David and that they were helping him make the seat, increasing production, and making further improvements. I explained the malfunction to him and he said a new seat would be out in the morning and to simply put the old seat in the packaging the new one came in and send it back. Should be in Monday! No hassle and no questions asked. Wow!
Thinking about the seat I asked him about the paint on the seat and how it flakes off pretty easy and he said that in about a month all seats will be powder coated and he said that finish has proved ultra durable in testing. He also said if you ever want to touch up the current paint it can be found at tractor supply in a spray can labeled camo green. I told him I was turkey hunting when I found the webbing snaffu and he also said that they just introduced a turkey Waldrop seat to the lineup that is already available on their site with the only difference being it’s much lower to the ground. Continuing on I told him I watched David’s videos online and was wondering about the elk shoulder shelf addition to the seat that he mentioned in that video four years ago and inquired about that. Tim said they have made one and it will be available in the coming months both as an add-on to existing seats and as an option directly from them. He also said they will have several options direct from them that have a game bag, or bow holders or quivers already installed on the frame. Again he said these will be available for existing seats too and existing seats can simply be sent in for install as well. Lastly he said they had dramatically improved production from 6 seats every few weeks by David himself to their team producing 20 a week still made in Georgia. Hoping that wait times will come down. Pretty exciting time to be a pac seat user.
Anyway wanted to give a shout out to the company really taking care of me and caring about the customer. It seems with the new partnership the pac seat will continue to be around awhile which is good news for all of us. Looking forward to more hunts. After I get a few woods sits in and the new seat in, I’ll do a full review in the product review section.
