I was thinking something like the legs on something like this, so it could still fold up real nice.
A lot of times I am hiking thinking about climbing a tree, but some terrain or trees or what have you do not allow that, BUT you could brush out a great ground blind.

I wondered if the linesmans being attached to those loops would be more comfortable to climb with the last time I hunted. Has anyone tried this and can shed some light on this?
It was designed to be used that way with the web, and the seat of the web down. I can assure you the current belt loops are far superior. But try it! who knows
When I get to hunting height I use the Lonewolf hand climber as my platform in combination with two screw in steps at the 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock positions. The only complaint I have with the hand climber is that when you remove your weight from the platform and place your feet on the steps it’s very easy to accidentally nudge the climber causing it to slip a few inches. I always have it tied off to my tether so it’s not going to end up on the ground, but it’s still a pain to have to keep readjusting it.
As a result, I spent some time yesterday playing around with a ratchet strap combined with an eight or 10 inch bungee cord. As you’re climbing the tree attach the ratchet strap approximately 2 feet below where the LW platform is to be secured. As soon as you have climbed above the ratchet strap with the hand climber reach down and attach one end of the bungee cord to the eye hook on the end of the ratchet, and then the other end of the bungee to the center outside edge of the hand climber. Once you reach hunting height The bungee will apply just enough pressure to the end of the platform to keep it securely in place no matter how many times I try to kick it loose.

I think I will use them for a second linesmans belt when going around limbs instead of putting two linesmans belt on the same loops. Probably a little safer knowing which ones you are disconnecting.
Shot a christmas eve doe yesterday from the hybrid. 4 o'clock on the tree from where I was facing. I rotated to my left slightly with the fork, brought my bow over bridge, twisted my body just like I would in any saddle, drew my bow, and brought home dinner.

I shot another deer on weak side Saturday out of the hybrid. Rotated slightly to my left, bow over bridge, drew, and hit right where I was aiming at about 3oclock on tree from where I set.
deer trotted 20 yards and stopped, bow back over bridge, grabbed another arrow, and center punched him from 40 yards.
I shoot a 35” ata bow, 76lbs, and typically a high tether hookup. No issues making weak side shots.

squirrel steps. 5% of the time 5, 5% of the time 3, 90% of the time 4. I carry four, unless i know the tree to be big or small before hunting and adjust accordingly.
Do you also use the top of your stick or just the squirrel steps?

i got to where it wasn’t worth fiddling with securing the stick. I use the squirrel steps only. Sometimes if I’m surprised by a big tree, I’ll use the stick. I plan in offseason to bolt a bent hook on backside of sticktube to grab ocb strap when I’m securing steps to also lock down the stick. But usually it’s not worth fooling with.
I know lots of people hunt off their stick. I have my habits.
