It's retirement time for my Lazertec

My tale begins a few weeks ago. This is about the time of year where I start my pre season prep. I opened my bow case to notice my strings looked a little more worn than I remembered. Naturally a trip to the bow shop was in order. So when things opened back up I took the old girl for a day at the spa. The guy who tunes my bow looked the bow over and then looked me straight in the eye and said. "You sure you want to put new strings on this? You're gonna spend more on the strings than the bow is worth." My heart broke just a bit when I found out that he was right. That bow is the nicest shooting bow I've ever owned.
Now I've always thought that it was a little too heavy and big for me to tote in the woods. That never stopped me from grabbing it at every possible opportunity. From now on it will have a decorative rack to rest upon in my den.

This year I'm trying to drop more weight off of my setup. Bought a real saddle "Cruzr S" with adjustable bridge. Stick mods, sticking with 11.4mm tactical rope and prusik and to round it out I bought a PSE Stinger Max. It is a whopping 3.8 lbs and 30" axle to axle. Excited to work out the bugs with the new gear but sad to retire a reliable bow. Time to practice.

I applaued you dedication to the bow! I get to caught up in the newest fastest bow Matthews makes... wish I could slow it down and just enjoy the one I have more

Bows are like tools to me. I don't have to have the latest and greatest I just need it to fit my needs and be dependable. Over the years shooting my Lazertec I've learned all its ticks and my bad bad form mistakes. Especially with my left arm. One wrong thing and she'll sting rash you something good. I don't shoot with a forearm guard. It's a good feeling knowing how the shot went bad. I know instantly if it's me or the bow. Usually me.
