Just broke my platform! [emoji30]

How do you “larks head”?

I think that’s what it’s called lol.
You pull the tag end of strap through the loop on the other end. Here’s a pic

You guys have convinced to try a piece of Amsteel and connect that to a caribiner then to the strap. If that doesn’t seem silent and practical then I might just go from caribiner to the strap after silencing the platform with paracord

Thanks all for the info. Definitely didn’t want to cough mucho money for a new platform

Let us know what you end up doing to the carabiner to quiet it down. I have DIY platform and I have the carabiner wrapped in camo tape but its still pretty loud if it hits the platform. I also have my biner attached directly to the platform

I sprayed down the caribiner with “Plasti dip”. Not sure how it will hold up yet since it’s still drying. Yet I also wrapped the platform with paracord on every spot that the caribiner might hit and make noise. Will probably try it out later when I go to practice with my spikes

Looks great! I see that XOP just stopped selling the seat as a replacement part...wild speculation but maybe they are looking to release a saddle platform? Im guessing they caught wind that something was up with all the seats they were selling.

I'm pretty sure they caught wind of how we were using the seats. It's still sold but is now part of an 'i-beam upgrade kit' that costs more than twice as much as the seat casting used to.
You could probably heavily mod the ibeam they include to work as a platform beam but not without a lot of effort and machining tools. Most guys don't have access to that stuff.

Can still get a seat casting from Lone Wolf - at least for now.

You can blame that on dudes like me

I thought XOP was gonna come out with their own platform since the seats were selling so much. Maybe they are close to releasing it and would rather we buy the whole thing? Or maybe my memory stinks!

There was definitely some discussion on this site last year about xop coming out with a platform but, I don't remember if there were any details.
