Florida’s bow season in my area is a week out and anticipation is through the roof with some of the game cam pics I’ve gotten this year. So as I’m doing my daily practice this afternoon, i let it fly and “pop!” My peep sight popped out of my string due to what i guess was some loose serving. My main bow shop is maxed so i ordered a string separator to try and replace it myself without a bow press. Has anyone else tried a no bow press approach to replacing peeps? I’m just hoping i can get it done and re-sighted in for the season because I’m dying to sling some arrows.

Did you try shooting without the peep?
3 seasons ago i took my bow to work 2 weeks before a hunt and one of the guys i work with dry fired my bow. Bent both cams. The bow shops always busy when you need them.

I haven’t shot it without the peep but i may call my local bass pro and see if they can put it back in real quick tomorrow. I normally would go to the local bow shop but my cousin just had to wait 3 weeks just for a new string install so they’re swamped right now.

Any archery shop should do it. It takes like 2 mins. It's very easy

Have you ever looked into buying a press? Doing your own bow work isn’t very difficult once you know what your doing. Plus it doesn’t even take that long to learn. I built my own several years back and haven’t used a bow shop for now work in years.

I ended up taking it to the local bass pro and the fella there stuck it back in for free so that’s a plus. In the future though i do wanna invest in a bow press so i can work on my own stuff and friends as well
