JX3 Tether Question

I was hanging out back testing out my JX3 and noticed I had a hard time adjusting the tether prusik.
Seems like the prusik rope is like 50% of the tether diameter making it sinch hard.
Anyone else have this issue or am I doing something wrong?

I have been using a different tether for a while so I don't remember specifically the diameters. But, for sure I remember the prussik being hard to move once you've weighted it. I think that's just an issue with prussik....changing diameter may help...but I guess arguably on your tether of all things you should prefer no slippage vs. ease of movement.

Ultimately, I switched to 8mm Oplux and I use a kong duck. I know many would feel its unsafe to use an ascender on your tether. I have a whole backup system I wont' go into (2nd tether and RC harness under the JX-3). So, I'm OK using an ascender. I really like to be able to adjust one-handed. Often I'll sit down in the tree and get the tether all weighted and feel like I need to move up a bit. I have already taken my LB off. So, it's nice to be able to use one hand to steady yourself on the tree and one hand to adjust...so that's why I use an ascender. If I didn't have a backup I'm not sure I'd use an ascender on my tether.....just something you need to decide for yourself. I tried using a prussik and a tender for a while to get easier movement, but I could never get that to really work.

Thanks dlist777, good info.
I use an ascender on my linesman rope but had same concerns on tether.
My plan is similar, I want to use all the HS lifelines I have to ascend up my sticks so I am connected.
I am currently using a couple 1 ft extension straps on my linesman loops and plan to connect those to my HS Lifeline and leave it connected while on stand.
Prior to this I did use a RC harness but mines kind of bulky to wear under JX3. I guess I am not so worried about a JX3 failer as I am a tether failure.
What RC harness are you using?
I might add, I am private land with all presets but I do have a mobile setup plan as well.

Here is the RC harness. Tiny. You'll never notice it's there. If I have a preset lifeline, I'll hook lifeline into belay loop. If I climbing sticks as I go, I'll bring a 2nd tether and hook into belay. That way anything can fail on my primary system (LB, tether, bridge, connections, caribiners) either due to human error or equipment failure and I should be OK.RC Harness.jpg

Nice, thanks for sharing that.
