Kestrel Discomfort

6'3" 36" pants 240lbs (I need to work on this number) and I ordered a size 2. From past experience when on the edge of sizing I have always found it to be beneficial to go a size up. In this instance I figured that having the extra material will put the pressure points in front of my hips, not on them, and as seasons progress you tend to add bulk in either layers, fluff, or both. From what I have been seeing on this forum, I feel confident that I have made the correct choice in size. It is highly unlikely I will actually get to hunt with my kestrel this season (Jan 31 here in NJ) but that gives me all spring and summer to dial in a climbing method, practice set up and shooting, and figure out my tether adjustments. I am checking this forum several times a week, if not twice a day, and the info that is here is gold. Good luck to you and it seems that you will be more happy with the bigger size.

Man. Are all you guys really that tall? Makes me feel short at 5'10". I am 220 lbs with a 34" waist and have a size 1. I find it quite comfortable but I don't have much of a butt. But I would enjoy trying a size 2..

It's definitely about body type and not so much waist measurements. I'm 6', 210 before the Christmas meals, 36 pant, & wife says no arse at all. I can eliminate the pinch from the Kestrel in one position, but it is a sweet spot with zero wiggle room in tether height and saddle adjustment. It's a very comfortable sitting position but my back won't allow me to stay that way long. I've gone back to the Evo for now which, for me, is very comfortable in almost every position. But the Evo is sooo much bulkier walking in and definitely not pack friendly. I hoping the size two kestrel is the answer. I still think it's too close to perfect to not work.

I am still waiting on my Kestrel, I'm 6'3" 240lbs with 38 waist. After reading the forums I went with the size 2 since I'm right at the max for size 1
