Finally getting around to ordering a Kestrel Complete Kit (Size 2)...

What is everyone's preference on the Tree Strap Length? 6ft or 12ft in length.

I don't care about the extra 3 bucks for the 12' strap but is it needed or would it be too much if I was in a smaller diameter trees most of the time?

Thanks in advance...

I have the twelve footer and it has always been way more than I need. I'm going to cut it, just not sure how much yet.

Same here

Thx

So would ordering the 12’ and cutting in down to say 9’ be the way to go?

Or will the 6’ cover most trees?

I ordered the 12' and will probably cut it down to about 9'. There were at least two trees I hunted this year that 6' would not have been big enough.

I have both . If you rap your tether around the tree twice you probably would want to go with the 12' . I do use the both. If you want a 9' foot tether just order some samson predator rope from Wesspur . You can order it by the foot it's 95 cents per foot . I would order the 6' with my Kestrel and that way you could have a 6' or a 9' . Make sure you order enough rope because knots take up a good bit of rope. I would also order a ropeman 1 if you check around you can get them for about 35 to 40 bucks. Good luck.

The 12' was originally offered because they recommended to wrap your tether around the tree twice. If you only wrap it once, which most of us do, you can get away with the 6 foot on most trees. If you hunt some larger trees you may want to get the bigger one, see how much you use on the biggest of them, then trim it down.
