Well guys, it’s opening weekend of rifle season here in Arkansas and I’m suffering from Kidney Stones. It started Thursday evening while I was in NJ for work. Anyone who has had these knows how bad it hurts, and trying to hang in a saddle with these things moving is just murder. I’m trying to endure, but it has already caused me to not be able to pull the trigger on a big bruiser, yesterday. I just couldn’t steady myself long enough for a shot. So frustrating, I know it will pass(pun intended) but why this weekend?

Good luck with the stones. They are painful! I have been sidelined by them all season. I had a large stone that couldn’t be passed, so they went in to break it up with a laser and remove the fragments. Ended up with a blood clot from the surgery that shut down my kidney completely and landed me in ICU for a week with sepsis. Spent a couple days on a ventilator and am still trying to recover!

I had on on New Year’s Day and a second one in feb this year. They are definitely no fun. I can’t imagine hanging in a saddle when trying to pass one. Kiddos to you man for having the stones (pun intended) to tough it out! I would not feel safe hanging from a tree if taking the drugs they prescribe while you are on the journey. You must be a pro at pissin from the saddle because I had to go constantly when passing mine due to all the water I was drinking to help flush it through.

My wife is into homeopathic treatments, and she’s taking good care of me. No drugs though. I’ve been filling empty water bottles from the saddle, tough gig. Would be a lot tougher if the temps drop. Right now not too many layers. But OMG IT FRIGGIN HURTS.

Duuuuude that sux. Last one I had was uncontrollable vomiting and feral position. Had to completely change my diet. You're more of a man than I, hanging stands. Good luck!

My grandfather had stones years ago .The doc told him to drink lots of beer . He said the beer would help flush them out and also deaden the pain somewhat. Please consult your doc .

Not all stones will pass without help. Asking as you can still urine and no fever you should be ok.

Left one stone this morning at the base of a cedar! Brought me to my knees, but I am grateful it’s gone. I think by the pain still on my left side, there is still one more. When I was in my 20’s. - 30’s I would have kidney stones every 3 years, like clockwork. Haven’t had one in about 9 years. They hurt so bad.
I’m not actually sure why I’m hunting this morning, I’m hurting and it’s raining, I just hate to waste a vacation day. Wife didn’t hunt, she is still warm and dry at home. No deer yet, hoping to endure! I’m probably stupid and stubborn for hanging here.

Maybe someone will come out with a Kidney Stone Compatable Tree Sling...

I feel (have felt) your pain!

Had stones when I was 22, pain was so bad at home that I ripped the toilet off the bathroom floor. I also broke the bolts on the bed rail at the Army hospital while they gave me the "painkiller" shot in my ass. That was almost as bad as the stones themselves. I walked around like an old Korean woman for the next 3-days...if you've been to Korea then you know what I'm talking about. By far, the most painful experience of my life and I've had some rough injuries in the military.
