I currently use knaider/swaider with WE Steps. Instead of using an entire step just to pass it with the knaider swaider, has anyone thought of making a smaller connection for the knaider swaider only? Ive also seen that some are using an extended swaider (not sure of the actual name of it) at shoulder height to get more out of each step. If you did this and only had a few small connection "buttons" then the last step being a WE step with maybe a platform (or platform alone) you would save all the unused stepness of the steps used only to get to height. I envision these button connection points using a strap and cam buckle or G hook rather than something being cammed over. More like squirrel step size, but with holes intended to receive either two hook connections (changing the swaider connection) or a biner and a hook and more flat to the tree. I tried drawing it out, but i guess ill see if this is good enough to get the gears turning.

I've messed around doing this with my tether, 2 prusik loops and knaider/swaider. Just put two prusik loops on your tether for your k/s to hook into and you can use the same principal as one sticking to advance. It works but is a little awkward! Obviously you'll need another tether/linesman to accomplish this too.

What made the two aider system work for me was having the stepp to stand on with both feet to attach the next one. Standing on just an aider would be really uncomfortable and probably make you not be able to reach as high, while also requiring more of whatever you’re hooking up with because each stepp adds 18-20” above your knee aider.

With the Knaider/Swaider combo you would definitely lose some height being stuck on your knaider setting your next connection point. Even using a third long Swaider you would get blocked setting your connection point and being on your Knaider, which would also have your extended Swaider. Youd have to have a combo Knaider/Swaider on each leg I guess.
