I’ve had my Kong with Oplux out for 5 hunts.
Each time out I would be able to adjust loosing and tightening manually.
The last time out the Kong would not catch unless I pushed with thumb the teeth mechanism.
Should Kong catch without Helping engage is the ???

I ordered same, I sure hope u don’t hav to manually engage the catch. The catch is the most important feature by far!

I’ve been using a Kong on my OpLux tether and LB for about 4 months and haven’t experienced that issue. To answer your question - yes it should catch without manual intervention. You should have to pull the string to disengage, when you release the string it should snap back on the rope.

Given the importance of that piece of equipment I would return it and get a new one.

Follow up-

Kong was returned to Distributor.
Dan O received the replacement and it is in transit.
Always check your gear Guys,
I knew there was something wrong with how bad it
was squeaking .
