KUIU Founder's Day Sale happening now (July 11-15, 2024)

It’s pretty sad to think I’m thinking about buying a pack i was very pleased with and hasn’t changed much in like 6 years. It’s even more sad to know I currently have the PRO 2300 and I’m still considering picking up another venture.

Honestly, if you have the extra funds and you love it that much, I'd do it. Good to have a back-up in case something happens to your current pack, or if it's discontinued again. (Don't listen to me, I just can't resist a good deal and I'm not a good influence)

Yep, got the venture 2300 verde

one thing that would make the venture 2300 better is if it had the same zipper layout as the pro 2300 bag.

OMG go away will ya!!!! That kind of logic bites deep!!!

Someone buy an extra venture 2300 in the ash green for me. I bought a trolling motor yesterday so I can’t justify any other purchases this month :tearsofjoy:

I added a 2300 to the cart. But couldn't come up with a 150$ reason to buy it. Unless you guys got one? It can't be that much better than my boring alps pack.

Mine hasn't come in yet so can't say anything about it yet

It’s a good pack but I wouldn’t buy it just because it’s on sale if you have a pack you’re satisfied with. It’s more of a if you need a new pack or upgrade from a smaller back pack style then this internal frame pack is a great choice. It will haul more weight than a backpack comfortably, but no so large like a frame pack. It has nice features that makes it work well at hauling saddle hunting gear, but it is still pretty basic. My only justification would be maybe to have a day pack for hiking or short hunts.

My frame pack doesn’t weigh much more and it can handle a lot more weight (reason I went this direction) so I don’t know why I’m even considering. The pro does compress down to nothing if I really wanted to really go lite. My biggest complaint is how high it sits on my back. Like I can lean my head back and touch the bag when loaded. This sucks while riding a bike and no fun crawling through and under privet. I need to post in another thread and get others thoughts on this.

PRO frame with 2300 bag

Lower vertical profile of the venture 2300, ignore me not wearing the pack properly

So is this the venture 2300 or the pro frame pac

What is the shell on the bottom pic?
It’s a scallop shell with a Cross of St. James on it. The cross was worn by the Order of Santiago, a religious group of knights that protected and provided aid to Christian pilgrims from the Moors. The shells were used historically in Spain as a way to mark the roads and trails on the pilgrimage. This was from our time on a 70 mile pilgrimage in Spain called the El Camino De Santiago or the Way of St James to the Santiago De Compostela or the Cathedral of St. James. The Perigrinos or pilgrims wear the shell now to signify they are on the pilgrimage.

It was very light trail and road hiking and our packs were around 20 lbs or less because we didn’t pack tents or cooking gear etc. The venture 2300 pack did very well for me on this trip.

Am I wrong to compare it to say a drill motor. The 80 Ryobi gets the job done. Functions and does what you need it to do. But a 150 DeWalt or Milwaukee just feels a little better, and performs slightly better. But depending on how much you use it, the Ryobi works when I need it to.
I keep wanting to get into more public hunting. But not sure if I am there yet. With a lifetime warranty it's not gonna break down. The Alps works. The one time I loaded it way to much it hurt to carry after a while. Not sure this would stop that. I still had to much stuff.
