Land Between The Lakes, Kentucky - Monster BUCK DOWN!

Excellent. Looking forward to your input.

I also talked with a guy who has hunted the area for many years. His tactic is to drive the roads at night and look for deer and rut activity. When he finds it, he goes in blind in the morning. Not sure how I feel about that tactic.

I know a couple guys who done that and had some success with it they would drive the forest access roads at night till they came to a spot where deer were crossing in front of them get out tie a marker to a tree come back the next morning and go in from that spot on which ever side of the road had the favorable wind.......I've never hunter LBL but I hunted Fort Knox last year pretty rugged country and really low deer density the deer at Knox are smaller bodied in comparison to most of the state.

I'm glad to see this post. If work catches up I will be at LBL from November 3rd-11th. So I'm hoping to get some insight on the place. What dates will you be headed there

That must be a common tactic up there. I just talked with a guy yesterday that gave me the EXACT same advice.

I'm hunting Fort Campbell Nov. there Nov 5-11. However, the installation is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 7 & 8. I'm hunting LBL those 2 days.

If you had to go in blind that's not a bad way to do it. If you scout you might be looking at where they were last week. Using that tactic you know where they were a few hours ago. Of course you could ride a hundred miles and not see the first deer.

LBL buck !!!
