This project required the dissection of a Muddy stick,a Summit Buckstep and a 5 step Etrier/aider and an aluminum platform. I took the Bucksteps off the aluminum tubing took all hardware off the Muddy stick and mounted the Bucksteps on using grade 8 bolts. The platform I am having fabricated starting out as a 10"diameter circle with cutouts to match the Buckstep profile. I am also having a stiffening band that will bolt to the top step using grade 8's. My thinking is I will have one piece of equipment to do my version of 1 sticking. After reaching hunting height step on platform and rock the hunt! Anybody else do this or what do you think. Also if my shorter version will work it will fit into my pack along with rope and gear. Should be around 16-18 lbs.

Too creative, need pictures, brain hurting, sounds cool! :)

16 to 18lbs? Perhaps I am not understanding what it is you are doing but it sounds heavy. Like those above said perhaps some illustration will help.

I've used stock buckstep to one stick and as top stick / platform. I have a bunch of these and am interested in where you're going with this. Following.

16-18 lbs refers to total weight of everything. The stick/etrier/platform its self should be 3-4 lbs I am estimating. I will wear saddle and everything goes in or on a pack. I use rare earth magnets to pull bow and pack up to me as I don't want extra weight climbing. The rope goes around the tree from the start and acts as my tree tether/rappell line. My hybrid srt device(RopeRunner) acts as my adjuster when at height.
