Trying to get some ideas on squirrel step mods. I really like them. Any bed liner sprays etc. I haven’t had a lot of luck with the vet wrap holding up. Let me know what you all are doing.

How are you wrapping them? Mine have been used hard since day one and are still doing fine. The back side will wear against the tree pretty much instantly, but they don't make noise.

I use vet wrap and camp hockey stick tape. Held up fairly well

I knew the back would wear off based on your videos. Where my feet sit the wrap wants to “slide off”. Just curious if there were other ideas out there. Have you tried stealth strips?

I wonder if hit them with a coat of bedliner then wrap em if that would prevent the sliding.

I used camo hockey tape, I was very careful and wrapped them well. I put double lays on high wear spots, and sharp edges. I also taped in the strap slot to make them harder to slid. I have used mine a good bit and they look like there holding up well.

I wrapped mine as tight as I could and put multiple layers on them.

I have used stealth strips before and did not like them. They eventually peel (like everything) and when they do they are a pain to clean and redo. Vet wrap can be cut off and easily reapplied.

If you decide to coat them, they should take it very well, since they are bead blasted. Let me know how they turn out!

Maybe I’ll throw a coat on tonight before bed.

It really depends on the tree for me. Even if they are not “rock” solid they are still plenty solid for me I feel perfectly confident with them

I got them after my season here closed in NH. But I’ve been practicing and doing test sits all winter so I’ve probably got about 15-20 hours on them.

I agree the tree will make a big difference! I wish I had these during the season!

Ok they look great! Think I’ll give that a shot. Don’t really wanna spray them bed liner if I don’t have too. I have large shrink tubing at work that I considered as well.

Of the steps we received back for re-work, the best wrapped ones were with GearAid Camo Form tape. That stuff held tight and didn't want to come off! However, it comes at a cost - $15.95/roll. I'll be doing some playing around with them this summer and will try wrapping half in Camo Form and half in vet wrap to see for myself how they hold up. Plan to use a set this fall for hunting some even though I hunted 100% from a platform last year.
