Weight seem like it would be a detracting factor. I wonder if the are designed for had creosote telephone poles and wouldn’t work well in softer trees?

With that being said I would take these over 1/2” rebar.

If you are doing presets before season, then I think they would work fine. They would probably be a lot more expensive than a 10-inch piece of 1/2 rebar but maybe you could find a discount on a bulk order.
