I use lineman spurs to climb with lonewolf stand. (working on getting a saddle from this website hopefully)
It changed my life forever. With spurs I can climb any tree, any size, any amount of limbs. As good as it gets for versatility and weight. I am hoping to add a saddle to be that much more mobile. This set up is not for everyone. I would say you ought to be in pretty good shape to be comfortable doing this.

I know we've all had this discussion here before, but I guess it bears repeating that I love my Klein's. They're not the lightest , but to me they're awesome.

I've looked at all of them 100 times. To make matters worse I just got $200 as a gift certificate to Amazon for my birthday. They don't seem to carry what I need. grrrrrrr.

What kind of spurs do you use? I'm in the market for some right now.

Can't remember the type. Got them for free from my cousin who is a lineman. I would say most models are pretty similar. I would just find one in a good price range. And go for it. They are pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it.

I have used buckinghams for years as a tree trimmer, but splurged this year and got the carbon fiber geckos for hunting. I haven't had a chance to use them yet

I justs order the Aero Hunter Evolution saddle and now I'm planning to order a set of Bashlin Aluminun pole gaffs with the big buck pads! I'm gonna have to sell a rifle to pay for them but I think in he long run it will be well worth it! :D

I'm a lineman so I've seen quite a few different ones. I've always ran aluminum bashlin gaffs with Buckingham pads. That being said on the job I use big padded velcro pads but I know shifting around the velcro can make noise and if you want to remove them one your at hunting height and use a platform they make lots of noise. I went with my old school leather c-pad with buckles. That way they can be removed with little noise. Not quite as comfortable but still not bad.
