What does anybody think of using some of these from Cabela's as linesman rope and a tether. I have been looking at various ropes. And I know these are rated as high as some other recommended ropes like the predator. But I have a ton of Cabela's points to use so I was thinking about going with some of these to start and invest in other ropes later.
Unless somebody would like to trade me some cabela's gift cards for some proper tether and linesman ropes :)

These are what a few guys use, if you're trying to save a few bucks! I used to have the Summit version for my lineman's rope before I switched to the saddle and upgraded everything haha.

You can use that stuff but I think your money would be more well spent making your own.

I can recommend the muddy safe line as tether and linesman. I recently had a friend make a tether linesman and bridge for a saddle from one and they work great. It comes with 2 prusiks as opposed to 1 on the other safety line. One thing to watch out for is if you do this all of your lines are the same color and it can get confusing

Would you worry a lot about rope color. I found some good deals on some light orange samson arborist ropes

That’s what I used the first two seasons, because I still had it. Nothing wrong with them.

I use the muddy lifeline for linesman and tether. 2 prusik knots come with it from the factory so just measure, cut, clean up the cuts, and add your loop and stopper knot and u good. I read some people concerned with the prusik construction with the shrink tube and metal clamps on it but I've had mine for 5 seasons and it 0 issues.....I been keeping an eye on camofire to order a new 1

I have yet to see the exact size of the rope but it either 8 or 9mm....I'm not 100% sure how to measure correctly......I never used a ropeman or Kong so not sure which works....I always just used the prusik

Is it spliceable or do you just tie in your loop
