Have had this stand forever and converted it to saddle platform. Removed seat bar and cut the seat tube about 4 inches. Cut the end of the stand off and shortened cables. Cost me about 3 bucks and is super light.

If you upload them through tapatalk it will resize them automatically. I use a app called image sizer but just taking a screenshot and cropping it down to the actual photo is usually sufficient.

Thanks Eric. Screenshot worked

Why can I only view half of the pictures on the site when I use Tapatalk? I’d really like to see this platform...

i think you should be able to see it now..

That’s neat looking. Most saddle hunters in general try to avoid cables on platforms but that thing looks big enough that it should work well.

I can’t answer that. I can say the site is still going through some growing pains and some features aren’t working 100%. @redsquirrel can probably help you more than I.

Thats a loggy bayou "cheap seat". their was nothign cheap about them other than price. They weighed like 6 lbs max. A little creaky in the cold. I"l be curious to hear feedback on this with leaning on it and such when its cold out. NIce idea!

I have the same treestand, ive used it "as is" (with seat flipped up) but really like your idea. To me the cables wouldn't be that big of a deal for a sitter.

Here it is folded. I cut the seat tube so that it has matching dimensions. I am new to saddle hunting so thought I would try this before I spent more money. Waiting on my Mantis and Wild Edge steps now.D9F11512-344C-4167-AB6F-56CD87A30412.png

You nailed it on all points. Amazing how light they are.

I got one of them in the woods on public land abandoned .the top part is growing right into the tree. I'm going to go there tomorrow with a crowbar and a chisel and Hammer and maybe I'll make a saddle platform out of it .I think they only weigh 6 pounds if used as a tree stand.

Yeah I see why he left it there. That sucker creeks and moans but it is light.

I had a buck right under me with his head in the weeds with one of those stands and as I drew back on him I must of shifted my weight and that stand let out a loud creak and he said "SEE YA"!

Moving pieces + uncovered metal tubing = unnatural sound always at the wrong moment
