This may be a stupid question - but do any of you know why LW assassin wasn't popular cause they stopped making this? I guess it just wasn't comfortable

Nope. It just hit the market too early. Saddle hunting wasn’t what it is now. It’s essentially the Mission platform but 10 years too soon. It’s widely considered one of the best out there. But now, Andrae and crew have e Ambush, and Trophyline/Novix have the mission which are both the stepchildren of the original.

I have the ambush
2 of them
And I owned an assassin

It’s not like the mission platform
Way more robust actually
And heavier (at least to the feel)
It’s definitely a nice platform

That being said I like my ambush better because it’s thinner and lighter

All mentioned will give you a place to stand in the tree

Ridge runner gets my vote for best of all time
I just have big feet( 16)and like lone wolf custom stuff so I’ll rock the ambush

When it hit the market there wasn't the number of guys who were open to the idea. Everyone thought you had to walk around the tree if you had a saddle. It was also costly. I just looked at the mission yesterday online and its VERY well priced compared to everything out there.
