Lone wolf batwing on predator xl

So I just don't like the bite on the brackets that come with the predator xl. I put a lone wolf batwing on it to test and instantly had better bite. The "neck" of the predator is a tad bit thicker than that of a lone wolf which causes the batwing not to sit all the way flush on the predator "neck". I could easily file down the aluminum neck of the predator enough for the batwing to sit flush but is this a bad idea? I would need to take off far less than a cm total. Although more difficult I could file down the batwings channel instead. Thanks.

I'd do the batwing so you don't take away from the post integrity. Post is more likely to fail if you take material off due to camming pressure and body weight vs. reducing the width of the cut on the batwing.

I recently did the same thing, but on my Predator XL the Lone Wolf bracket fit perfectly. It does fit tighter than the factory bracket. However, I prefer that over the sloppy fit that allows the factory bracket to pivot. I actually bought three brackets, because I have to replace the bracket that I borrowed off of one of my Lone Wolf stands for my original Predator. I checked the other two brackets, and they also fit perfectly. The cutout in the brackets all seem to measure about 32.5 mm. Therefore, I assume that the variation between our two platforms is in the cast post, and not the machined bracket. I am assuming that my post is in spec. Therefore, if I were you, I wouldn’t be afraid to file a little off the post to make it fit.

Ya I filed it. Fits perfectly now. I must have only took off the thickness of a horses tail hair lol

I put the Predator bracket on my lone wolf hang on. Hopefully I can get it to bite if I ever use it again lol
