You should try it it cuts the weight and bulk of the buckle strap and works well. With a 2 step aider it is easy to get 18-20 feet to top of the step.

3 sticks. I basically have 4-4.5 ft between each step. I’m currently using a 5 step aider but it’s alost useless to have 5 steps because I can’t reach that high to utilize that length of an aider. I’m thinking I’m going to make an amsteel 2 step aider wither for each step that stays on or a movable one. I’m also curious about a knaider in conjunction with the aider.

I wouldn't do that personally. You potentially could, but if it were to break then the whole stick would give out. I would be more likely to hang one off off the bottom bracket against the stick or do a cable aider, which would be attached to the bottom step bolt.
