Hi everyone. I’m brand new to saddles. I have a lone wolf hand climber seat section I plan to use as a platform for the time being. I tried it today and confirmed my suspicions that it isn’t completely stable. Just curious if anyone else uses this as a platform and if you have any tips for making it more secure. Thanks!

I have tried it, wasn’t for me but you can put a ratchet strap around the tree at the bottom to secure it. Noisy/bulky but it works

Lots of threads on here about this subject if you search the Climbing Methods sub forum.
I have used one a lot this year. I like that it’s not locked to the tree. I can make adjustments as needed in a matter of seconds while hunting. Many reasons to do this and I have done it often.
It’s not going anywhere as long as you keep both feet on it.
Keep it tethered to your person at all times.
I run a small cord from my foot loop to my saddle belt. This keeps it from falling and allows me to get my feet in the loops when I need to move the platform. I also have the ability to rappel down and retrieve the platform if something crazy happened nd it slid down the tree.
