Lone Wolf Hand Climber Method

I just bought a Lone Wolf Hand climber off of the classifieds. I’ve read about people strapping them to the tree when they reach hunting height. What is everyone using to do this? I’d prefer not to use a ratchet strap because of the noise but if it’s the safest way then so be it. Also would like ideas on what people are using for backpack straps and foot straps. I appreciate any help. Just let me know. Thanks.

There’s a ton of info here on this one...... I don’t have the couple best threads at my fingertips. @Adrena123 ????? As far as straps , I prefer an OCB at hunting height. Short walks I just put the belt over my shoulder, long hikes it goes on the pack or Jx3.....

With the OCB buckle do y’all have hooks on it or just loop it through?

Loop, I keep each side strapped down with a small niteize tie & deploy at hunting ht

I don't strap it to the tree at all. More so, I prefer the "freedom" to move around the tree if I need to. I can move it with my feed in the loop without any sound. But as with the whole saddle hunting, each one of us has his/her own preferences.

I know a couple guys that do that same thing! Do what works for ya.....

Are you hitching it to each side somehow or literally throwing it around the tree and just running it through part of the stand?

What @Bigterp said about transporting it on walks..... but i don't strap it anymore, haven't all season and have zero issues. If I can't rotate around the tree for a shot, ill lift my foot strap up(with pull up rope) slide my feet under and rotate platform around the tree a little for the shot. Usually don't have too, if that makes sense.

It’s not like you can’t find a good use for an ocb if you change directions.....

Ocb strap as well... As far as shoulder straps go.. I don't use any, I just tighten the lwhc strap a little sling the the whole thing over my head and o e arm... Sits flat against my back..

I use a ratchet strap for my climbing stick when I get to the top to make it more stable. I saw a video on YouTube by a guy on how to tighten a strap quietly. Basically what you need to do is manually pull back on the spring loaded parts as you pull the lever. That way they don’t click. I found this works ok but maybe get 1 or 2 clicks out of it right at the very end.
