I have a set of LW Mini sticks that I want to use a moveable aider like Dave T. uses. I have made aiders for my Helium sticks and just loop them over the top and onto the tree standoff bracket. The LW sticks have the standoff much closer to the top of the main tube. Just curious how well the same system would work.

How do you all connect a web aider to LW sticks? Not sure the insider method is for me, so I hope to stay with a moveable single step aider.

That should read "not sure the Knaider system is for me"

Stupid auto correct

Works the same with my Leverage sticks, as it should with the LW. Standoff is within 1 1/2" of the top on mine

Do you have a fear of the aider slipping off the standoff, since there isnt as much tube sticking up above it?

No fear.
Mine sits on top of the stand off, behind the tube, then drapes down the left and right of the stand off. Gravity and my weight lock it in place. Without gravity somehow switching , it can't slip above the stand off. Impossible situation.

Got any pics of your setup?

You can see how close it is to the top on LW sticks. Just seems a little sketchy. The step would help hold the aider on, but that is all

You can work with that. Looks like you have a speedy stich to put to work
Offset your knot and stirup.
You will want a flat end sitting on the stand off.
Fold over the flat end on itself and lock it with a stitch, like bridge loops on a saddle.

That should bring the profile with a small enough surface area to lock in place better

Tie a water knot loop at the top. That will hold it tighter to the stick

When i cut my LW sticks down i purposely left about an inch of the post above the top step so there would be a little more there to hold my aider.

I think what I am going to do, is just move the standoff down to the bolt that stops the step from swiveling around. I have some longer SHCS coming to try this. Think it will give me much more piece of mind, and not hurt the performance of the sticks.

I haven't used an aider attached to the top of a stick before so maybe it's more stable than it looks but it looks sketchy to me too. Not from the standpoint of the aider coming off, but from the point of pull being above the axis of rotation (button) being inherently unstable. If it all stays nice and straight it probably works just fine. It seems to me though that if the stick starts to kick out, being pulled from the top may help make that pretty exciting.

I'm going to do a bow in the next couple of weeks, maybe I'll give this a try. really does give stellar results.
I used the mats two different ways. I would lay it on the sticks and spray. The other way was spraying a small piece of the mat and dabbing it on. I painted my LW stand the same way. Also, I used a X shape mess. I didn’t think about it when doing sticks.
