lone wolf seat platform

I’m actually here looking for the same info. I know there is tons of info here about this but I can’t find much. I guess I don’t how to use the search feature. Can someone share some links with us? Thank you.

It's a sore subject on here. There was a running joke on here a couple days ago that "2020 would be the year people stop asking about making a platform from a lone wolf seat" it's just a joke and I am new to the site as well and yes I am currently building a platform from a lone wolf seat. But I couldn't help but bust out laughing thinking of all the guys that have been are here for years throwing there phones across the room. LOL don't worry I got you man. I'll send some stuff your way.

Just need a post, standoffs & a versa button. Nobody’s gonna bust your chops, but I’d just buy something for what your gonna end up with, but that’s completely your call. Search Ernie platform, lone wolf seat platform, or check out that klemz platform in classifieds......

The only reason to build a lone wolf seat platform is so you can say you built it. It’s going to be heavier, bulkier, weaker, and almost as expensive as what’s available from tethrd and ooal.

2020 the year everyone builds a lone wolf seat platform. LOL .

And yes, you are probably 100% correct, but I can't help it. I JUST HAVE TO BUILD ONE and a newbie tradition. Its a way to earn our Chevrons.

Then build it, paint it, wrap it or do whatever it takes to make it jaybo’s custom platform.

Why ruin an already good platform/climbing system? Use it as is.
I bought a replacement seat for a lone wolf lock on a few weeks ago with the plan of building a DIY Platform. With all the materials, I will have about $110.00 in it. And that everything, well not including paint and 550 rap.

9 inch post and 2 tree brackets from @DanO. Mount in the center of the post. Easy peesy.

How does your strap system work? Do you have to feed it through the buckle each time?

That’s an old pic, but yes you would there. I changed it to where I had a loop piece of webbing on the platform and a hook just past the cam buckle, then I can quickly hook it then tighten. That works pretty well

i Literally just posted asking about where I could by the lone wolf seat so I could build a platform ‍♂️ Guilty Newb. Lol

Is anyone adding a small piece of metal inbetween where the adjustable bolt and the post are? That way the bolt head isn’t digging a hole and denting the post? Mine dented the post so i need something to distribute the weight the bolt head. Any help is appreciated!!

Yes. That's pretty common. I have seen guys use JB weld to weld a small block of aluminum. If you do an "advanced search " for DIY PLATFORM. You will find info there
