I have a Lone Wolf seat from a lock on and a 2 foot LW climbing stick. I thought I’d be able to bolt that sucker on the stick to make a platform but there is 1/2” of play between the size of the stick and the bracket on the seat. Anyone over come this or do I need a bigger diameter of square tubing?

I won’t tell you not to do it, but I wasn’t happy w/any variation of platform & stick together . @redsquirrel gave me som good advice last year, so I’ll pass it on. “What are you trying to accomplish w/this build?” You end up with new sideload & other problems. It’s also isn’t convenient to pack. I found it better just to be on it’s own post & if you set it at the same height as top of stick you can really move for shots.......... that’s not to discourage you from trying, just my experience

Not trying to mount it on the climbing stick but trying to use the stick to mount the seat on to use as a platform. The width of the bracket on the seat is approx 5/8” wider than the stick.

The original lw sand cast had thick plastic bushings between seat and the post.

I got lucky and found one of the older, lighter LW Assaults for sale and scooped it up. It served me perfectly for a dual purpose. I used the lighter platform and swapped my newer Alpha seat post on to it so it’s now platform adjustable, then used the seat post and seat(which has the tree grooves in it so it’s perfect for cam locking) to make my own custom saddle platform. I used the plastic bushings to compensate for the gap between seat post and seat bracket. 4CFCDDA0-0E5E-4DDB-BB55-AF31CC991D10.jpeg

Could you get me some pics at the leveling mechanism.

I found it best to go with 1.25"×1.25" × .125" square tubing and a couple thin Teflon washers. It made the spongey side play almost gone.

This is the best way to do it. Also, get the xop brackets the lone wolf stick brackets can’t handle the camover.

Thanks for sharing. I just ordered a lone wolf seat and am going to use the offset tree brackets. I’ll get some bushings too. I have a climber and a hang on, and part of me just wants to tear them up for, parts, but 8mwant to sell them for saddle money. I might have enough left over for more arrows!

My experience with LW seat didn't go well. It bent. Xop is a stronger design and several of those have broken recently. I've got several diy threads showing the bent seat and the xop design I use today.

I just put this together tonight. 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" solid post. I have not had a chance to use it hunting I just put it on a tree tonight for the first time, so far so good. Anybody have any recommendations I would love to hear it. It's kind of heavy being solid I would like an easy way to machine it out. If anyone has any suggestions let me know.

Nice. I'd swap out the top bracket for a batwing. Much better and the stick type you have are prone to bending. If you have access to a mill, pocket the sides to form an i-beam. Look in diy forum, some nice examples in there.
