Just curious on who the first person will be to order an ambush and cut it down like the picture shown. I would be very interested in know the weight and stability. Also I am hoping the come out with a water jetted platform, we could be looking platform in the 2 lb range.

What you have described here is almost identical to an alpha stand. I can't remember exactly who did it, but someone has cut one down and it is amazing, imo!

I have a cut down assault. It is deep but not wide. The cut down Alpha is wider. I've seen them here but can't recall who. I think I am going to like the Ambush dimensions as they are. I'm not sure I would spring for a machined one to save a couple pounds. Maybe, maybe not. I'm not too much of a weight diva yet. May feel differently in another decade or two.

Check out “Ultimate Platform” thread, there’s pics of one I did. Also I believe @Murph4028 did one too. I think they are the perfect size.

@Erniepower was one of the first guys I remember that had the stones to cut up an alpha for a platform. They turned out great. He uses them for preset trees I think.

Sent from my Galaxy S8.

I believe you’re probably right that he was the first to cut up a stand, but all the pics I’ve seen of his are from the Assault stands, not the bigger Alpha.

Former lone wolf sit and climb platform. Had it in a tree multiple times now and love it. My buddy is mailing me his XOP air raid as we speak to be converted into a platform and he's letting me keep the seat to build my wife a flip down platform. Platform building has become an addiction of mine:rolleyes:

Be interested in seeing what the XOP looks like. Have an air raid myself and have thought about it.

When you are cutting these are you going to a shop having it water cut or cnc’ed? Or are you just going at it with an angle grinder?

I made a platform from a LW assault seat and still have the platform. How do you get a bolt into the base to seat it against the post?

Angle grinder etc..that is how my cousin cut his two different times .
So is there a spot on this site that goes over the basics I have an assault and I am using a set of bullmam ring of steps I am using this year. I was going to convert my seat but **** cut the platform down is way easier. Has anyone seen an effect to structural integrity?
