New to saddle hunting and really looking to make my own platform. I know it can be more risky but not paying the same for a full tree stand for a platform.

Keep an eye on the classifieds. I tried doing a couple DIY platforms and finally bit the bullet and bought a mission. All the DIY things "worked" , but lacked. The mission is awesome.

You did an amazing job on that. You have to have some machining background right?

Unless you can cast and weld aluminum, I don't think you're going to find the value you think you're going to find in DIYing that piece of gear. By the time you buy the components necessary for a bolt-together option you're not going to be that far off from the cost of a good platform, and you won't be close to the function.

1625277750827.png This is a good option , The Scout ,and it's only $75.00 FROM Eastern Woods Outdoors.
1625277903431.png This is another option The Monarch For $100.00
1625277965088.png Or this one, The Ultimate Platform For $120.00
EWO Sells them for a fair price. They all mount to where the top step is on just about any 1 inch climbing stick. Any of these would be a good option and not have to pay the same price a a standard good quality tree stand

I'll find my notes from when I made it n pm you it will help you get started.

Have you given thought on making a Perch shaped like a Ridge Runner?
I have a RR and it's great on a tree...

Ps. I like your 'work bench'!
