Finally got around to doing the rope mod on my sticks. I’m not sure why I waited so long!!!! I didn’t measure the tree but it’s a decent size walnut tree. My finished rope is 8’ long and the stick is solid!!!

Did you use a static line? Looks like the rope has a lot of stretch in it. I used amsteel and the 1st few times it had a lot of stretch to it, but it finally stretched out and I like it now. Nothing significant on weight savings though.

I’m pretty sure it’s static. I could be wrong though. It does stretch but ya gotta remember too that the tree is probably 26-30” round. Any rope will stretch I’d think. Ill give it some time and see what happens. Once it set tho that stick was rock solid.
