I would avoid attaching a carabiner to the aluminum platform. Metal on metal, unless major precautions are taken, is generally a noise-discipline no-no.
hat!I received a lot of questions about my platform with the whoopie sling attachment. Here's a video that explains how I use it. Also, with the whoopie sling, you aren't relying on the "ears" or "tabs" to support your weight.
g2, what's the advantage of using the LW or XOP plattform over using pegs or Stepp Ladder stepps? Also, I see guys getting more than one. Is that just for being able to move around the tree better? Seems like it might get heavy going in and coming out.
What he said.I know you asked G2 but I will answer as well. For me the platform is 1000x more comfortable than pegs or steps and it allows me to shoot all the way around the tree with nothing other than the platform on the tree. I can stand on the platform like a mini treestand facing away from the tree and I can also shoot to the right of the tree without swinging all the way around. Mine weighs exactly 4lbs and I never even notice the extra weight when it's strapped to my pack. I have tried climb paws, screw ins, ameristeps and the top of a few different sets of sticks and the XOP platform just kills them all. Some may not want the extra weight but for me it's totally worth it.

Yep the platform is a game changer if your a leaner. Swingers prefer other options. Lol
Would you advise the total length of the Amsteel blue ropeI received a lot of questions about my platform with the whoopie sling attachment. Here's a video that explains how I use it. Also, with the whoopie sling, you aren't relying on the "ears" or "tabs" to support your weight.
I don't advise using amsteel any longer. A lone wolf strap works much better.Would you advise the total length of the Amsteel blue rope

I use the lw strap but sometimes it slips when caming? Is that normal or do you think it's worn out? If I pull up on the lever while caming it'll holdI don't advise using amsteel any longer. A lone wolf strap works much better.

Maybe the webbing is getting worn out. I actually broke a bracket on my platform. The webbing strap didn't budge.I use the lw strap but sometimes it slips when caming? Is that normal or do you think it's worn out? If I pull up on the lever while caming it'll hold
Good stuff here. Question, why would this base be preferred over a Ring of Steps?
