I already have a 20” LWCG double stick that I currently use for 1- sticking and I love it. I am wanting to get three of either the 14” or 17” for those times that I want to leave the set for multiple days. I know that I’m gonna add aiders to the steps like I did for my 1-stick to get me to height, but I would like to get some feedback from anyone that has the shorter sticks as to how they like them and if there is anything to watch out for with the shorter length.

thanks in advance.

I have 4 of the 14" doubles. Absolutely love them. Using the buckle-less method they're solid on the tree. I tried using a two step amsteel aider earlier this week on my bottom step and it was okay. I think two single step aiders would be better. I just don't think the standoff is enough for the amsteel aider.

Honestly just using the four on there own and putting a gap between the top stick step and my Ambush gets me to about 15' which is high enough in our tight spots. Any higher and you don't have much of a shooting lane.

I would never use an aider that just swings around freely. Good way to mess yourself up. Its just easier to set the first stick high and put your foot on the tree and pull up to it.

the sketchy think about the cable aiders by LWCG is on the descent, if you step down too far from an aider your boot tread will stick in it and prevent your foot from coming out, then you’re stuck. I’m flexible but it still sucks.

Mine do not swing freely as I tighten them fully in the down position. I use 5 of the 14" and space them close together so no problems with sticking in the cables either.

I have 3 20" doubles that I have 17" amsteel aiders on. I rappel down so I don't have to worry about finding them in the dark. Adding space between my platform or ring and my top step it gets me to 16'. I removed the buckles and just use the flat strap and use the Buckless method and it works great.
