LWCG Double Step Sticks ..Best attachment ?

I ordered mine with 8ft straps ( no buckles) that method is working good for me

Had a 17” with 3/4 strap kick out on me last week. Upside down 16’ in the air can change your perspective. I was coming down from an evening hunt. I stepped down from top stick to the third and I felt it give a bit but not concerned. I remove the top stick and send it to the ground. Put my right foot into the cable aider and went to toe the tree and the stick kicked right. My lineman’s was loose for the step down but oft enough to catch. My right foot was hung in the aider with the stick kicked out to the right of the tree and my left arm gripping the top of the stick. I was able to reach up with my right arm and unhook my foot, out my knees into the tree and lower to the next stick. All safe with no injury but shaken a tad. From what I figure , I was in a white oak with thick loose bark. Evidently some of the bark fell out from under one of the lower bolts causing it to teeter . When I put my foot into the aider it caused side pressure while trying to toe the tree. I ran theses sticks with 1/4” Amstel last year and had a couple kick outs on hackberry trees. I’m going back to a daisy chain with truckers hitch from now on.
