LWCG Mini Sticks and adding a rope mod...

Have any of you guys ditched the straps on LWCG mini sticks for a rope mod? If so what kind of rope? And suggestions or reccomendations?
 
I would be interested in the amsteel. Just haven’t done it yet to see if the button holds up.
 
Have you tried the buckleless method with the straps they come with? That worked great for me last year
 
Used the stock straps without buckles last season and they were great. Pack down to nothing.
