I attempted something very similar to yours before last season, just not as professional and with a cam buckle strap. I'm sure the ocb makes a world of difference. Well done
Thank you. It took a while to get it all fitted but I'm really happy with how it turned out!

Where did you get the post and bracket that bolts to the platform. I would like to get this setup
All from onlinemetals.com. 1 inch by 1/8th tube, 1/8th inch aluminum angle stock, and a flat piece of 1/8th aluminum sheet. The sizes I bought on the angle and sheet didn't really work out so I spent a lot of time with the dremel cutting wheel and a file to get it all tight. Basically the climber is sandwiched between the whole apparatus. Wrapped the portions of the climber that touch the post and mounting hardware with gorilla tape to minimize metal on metal.

Awesome mod. There was a member who was making something real similar to those awhile back but I think he was just using the base as a platform but not to climb.

Am I the only one who doesn’t see a buck?

See you in a tree, Ricky

Nah I'm trying to figure why my pictures are sideways I'll put it back on

I’ve been considering that exact mod. Glad to see someone did it and it works!

Is there a hose clamp mod instead of the bolt mod?

I do not see the buck either.
Story of my life.

If you take the bolt out which makes the arm angle good for climbing, what does replacing it with a hose clamp do exactly?
I saw instead of the bolt someone used one of those hose clamps that screw onto itself instead of using the bolt. Keeps the arms up just like the bolt does though. My bolts are slightly bent and I can't really figure out why... probably because they are not grade 8...

Gotcha....I told someone to use another piece of square tube under the original arm to act as a "lift kit"...definitely many ways to get it done. Your HC looks good.

I tried to order it and everything seemed great until I got to the shipping. How does 3 pieces of aluminum cost $42 to ship? Am I missing something?

Is there some sort of stopper at the 90 degree angle or does the bar swing freely 180 degrees?

No stopper, arm can swing 180. The belt seems to take care of that, and it doesn't seem necessary with the ocb strap over the belt. I'm thinking about trying to figure something like that out though

I think I paid a lot like that but don't remember. It's a year old project that I just got around to so I don't really recall.

Thanks! yeah that sounds like a good idea, I'll try a few different things out but probably just need to buy stronger bolts for under the arms

In the off season I plan to modify an old hawk helium stick to bolt onto my LWHC in the same way you used the tubing. I have already done the rope mod to it and really just need to figure out what length I want to cut it and get the rest of the hardware. I have done some brain storming with it but no cutting yet.

This is the first bolt and nut combo I used and is still on my spare LWHC. Honestly this combo is probably stronger then the coupler nut and bolt because its shorter etc.Screenshot_20191210-110231.jpg
